EIGHT CCM cadres who are seeking
nomination for parliamentary seat in Nkasi North constituency, Rukwa
Region have called upon the postponement of preferential polls for the
Mkinga Ward due to numerous irregularities including acts of corruption
they discovered during rounds of intraparty meetings in the area.
They maintained that if the polls are not postponed they would not concede the results.
The eight aspirants jointly filed a
report expressing their grievances and signed it and subsequently handed
it officially to the Nkasi CCM District Secretary, Mr Seleman Mahmoud
in Namanyere town.
When contacted for comments, Mr Mahmoud
admitted to have received it, and that he would hand it over to the CCM
district officials for further action.
He acknowledged that he had held
preliminary meetings, cautioning them to strictly observe the set norms
and regulations during rounds of intraparty meetings they were planning
to conduct.
The eight aspirants who signed the
complaint include Hypolitus Matete, Rukwa CCM Region Chairperson,
Ponsiano Nyami, the Babati DC, Ephraim Kalimalwendo, retired District
Executive Council Director Salvatory Seko, the outgoing Nkasi deputy
District Council Chairperson.
Others are January Kilamtinde, civil
servant, Basil Mbwilo, the outgoing Kipili Ward Councillor, Jastus
Shauri and Raphael Siumbu, a civil servant.
The incumbent MP for the Nkasi North constituency Ally Keissy did not attend the meeting even when he was invited.

accused Mr Kessy of possessing a large amount of cash during the
